Meet Central Region Chief Collin Huerter
Hey guys, my name is Collin Huerter and I am proud to serve you as the 2011
Central Region Chief. I hail from Topeka, KS where I have lived my whole life. I
am an Eagle Scout, Vigil Honor Member, and Founder's Award Recipient of Dzie-Hauk
Tonga Lodge in the Jayhawk Area Council.
I serve as Assistant Scout-master for Topeka Troop 9 in which my brothers and
I grew up and became Eagle Scouts. I’m also in my third year as a member of the
Jayhawk Area Council Executive Board. Before being elected region chief, I
served two terms as the C-5B Section Chief, Section C-5A Secretary, two terms as
Dzie-Hauk Tonga Lodge Chief, Lodge Vice Chief, and two years as a chapter
officer.
I am 19 years old and starting my sophomore year at Kansas State University
studying political science, international studies and leadership studies. In my
free time I love to play any sport, go to any movie or a game with my friends.
Like all of you, Scouting has given me many incredible opportunities and
memories I will never forget. My favorite Scouting experiences would be my times
as a staff member at my local council camp, Camp Jayhawk. I worked there for
four summers as an aquatics instructor and the OA Coordinator. Being in the
beautiful lake during the day and fellowship with my brothers at night was the
best way to spend the weeks of my summer; I couldn’t believe I could call it my
job.
This year I have been privileged to meet and work with so many incredible
Arrowmen from across the country at gatherings, service projects and high
adventure bases.
I have experienced so many incredible things and have met so many scouts at
every event as well. Having become active in the Order through my lodge
ceremonies team, it will be great to see so many passionate Arrowmen honoring
the legend of our great Order and displaying incredible talents this week
I can't wait to meet all of you great Scouts, and I hope everyone enjoys the
days ahead.
